@ Wadebridge Tennis Club Sunday 2nd June 2024.

Former TEAM GB, (Davis/Fed Cup) Danny Sapsford and his colleague will be travelling down to Cornwall to join us for a great day of coaching and fun! Open to all Club Members ages and abilities, the event takes place between 10am and 4pm and includes everything from tennis coaching with former pro and Davis Cup player Danny Sapsford plus another of his team, a speed gun competition and an exhibition match.

Coaching sessions cost Adults £10 per person Juniors £5 per person/sessionto and are split into specific groups throughout the afternoon. If you’d like to get involved, take a look at the schedule below and sign-up to the one that’s right for you.

We’d love to see as many of you there as possible, even if you don’t fancy picking up a racket! Food and drink will be available to buy throughout the afternoon, and we’re offering a free burger to all who’ve paid to play. What more could you want.

Co-Founded by Danny Sapsford, Bright Ideas for Tennis is a charity that provides clubs like ours with fundraising opportunities as well as hosting inclusive tennis programmes linked to SEN schools, individuals, and local community support groups. Its main aim is to help everyone feel empowered, accepted and to improve their overall wellbeing.

Danny played on the ATP Tour between 1987 and 1999. He reached a career high ATP singles ranking of 170 and 83 in doubles and represented Great Britain in the Davis Cup from 1990 to 1995.Danny competed in all 4 Grand Slams with his best performance coming at Wimbledon '99 where he made the Third Round before losing to eventual champion, Pete Sampras. In 1998, Danny became the Men’s National Singles Champion, and he also won the Doubles Event on three separate occasions. Wins during his career include Henman, Rusedski, Korda, Gilbert and Kuerten. After retiring, Danny became an LTA National Coach, overseeing a squad of boys who won European singles and doubles titles, Grand Slam and ITF World Doubles titles, and junior/senior National singles titles. Danny co-founded Bright Ideas for Tennis in 2013.
