Tennis Courts Open

In light of the changes to a new tiered lockdown system which came into effect on the 2nd December, we are pleased to announce that the courts are now open again!

The LTA has been working hard with the Government to impact the decision but whilst it does mean the courts are open, there are still rules and regulations that we must all follow in order to protect yourself and those around you.

What does this mean?

The summary grid below details what type of tennis can be played at Westonining which is classed as a Tier2 system.

Effectively, singles and doubles can resume and, as per the previous lockdown, there are a number of guidelines you need to be aware of (see below). County doubles league matches will also resume.

What do I need to be aware of?

We are still in a pandemic and Covid remains a high risk. When playing single or doubles, please make sure that you follow all relevant social distancing  guidelines.

  • Make use of the hand sanitizer entering and leaving the courts and limit the use of the net winder (all nets should be at the correct height).
  • All tennis must be booked online or via the 'Booker App'.
  • When using the courts, we reccomend that you check-in to the venue by using the NHS Covid-19 app and scanning the QR code available in the poshly titled 'clubhouse' otherwise known as the shed!
  • Be fully aware of the latest Government advice on staying alert and safe (social distancing) which can be read here
  • Stay at least two metres away from others you do not live with or are in a support bubble with (including during play as far as possible, when taking breaks and before and after play).
  • Do not make physical contact with other players (such as shaking hands or high five).

We welcome this move and appreciate the work that the LTA has conducted on the behalf of all tennis venues. We all have a part to play and we suggest that you read the full set of guidenace for players by clicking here.
