WEST END HOLIDAY TENNIS CAMPS

We are excited to offer a camp for everyone on both weeks of the Easter holidays. These camps are open to members and non-members of Woodend and friends. While we access different venues, these camps are organised by the one coaching team and therefore please do not hesitate to reach out to ask what is the best fit for your child or children. The camps are underpinned by the values of EFFORT - ENJOYMENT - RESPECT and TEAMWORK.

Please note that on Week 1 (7th - 11th April) of the Easter holidays we are running regular camps at Woodend and Western tennis clubs. We have set up booking forms for each individual club. Please book in to your preferred venue.  We will let you know by 31st March if we think there are not enough in a particular age group to run a camp at a certain venue. 

***pilot project***

On Week 2 (14th - 18th April) there is ONE booking form for Windy Edge.  Additionally, during this week, we have access to tennis courts at Woodend and tennis & squash at Western. The goal for this week is to individualise camps for those players looking for a bit more of a tailored experience within a wider camp. 

We understand that it is important for siblings to be together at the one venue for ease of drop off and pick up for working parents. The idea is that all children would be dropped at Windy Edge and the main camp would run there with the option for some age groups (8 +) to be walked down to Woodend for training for part of the day. 

We will ask if you are interested in squash and gym on the form and there is also the option to set up a bespoke camp at Western for competition players who may like to play tennis/ squash and access some gym training, We would consult with you before making any of these decisions as Western would require a separate drop off/ pick up.

The Team

We are a team of tennis, squash and multi sport experts committed to offering camps that will nurture and challenge your children over the holidays. We work across Western and Woodend tennis and squash clubs and also across the wider community in parks, schools, church halls and leisure centres. 

The lead coaches are:

• Julie Gordon (LTA Level 5 Coach; MSc Sport Psychology; PGCE (Secondary))
• Martin Woods (UKCC Level 4 Squash Coach; PGDip Elite Coaching Practice)
• Verena Scott (LTA Level 4 Coach (in training): MSc Psychology)
• Paul Murphy & Stuart McMillan, Get Results Fitness

We run across three venues:

• Windyedge: 31-33 Ryvra Rd, Glasgow G13 1XT
• Western Health & Racquets Club: 30 Hyndland Road, Glasgow, G12 9UP
• Woodend Bowling & Tennis Club: 30 Chamberlain Rd, Glasgow G13 1QE

Costs of Camps:

Full Week 9 - 3pm: £185 

Daily Rate: £45

Full Week 9 - 1 pm: £150

Daily Rate: £35
