Entry Level Pay & Play Sessions

Entry Level Pay & Play Sessions are for players looking to get a taste of the club programme or who play occasionally and don't yet want to commit to a Development Squad. Just turn up and play - no booking required.

PLEASE NOTE -

  • The Thursday 4:30 Red / Orange Ball session from last term moves to Wednesdays this term starting 24th January - for this session only, text Helen on 07981 170322 to book in anytime you decide to come along as the session won't be availably without booking (you can still pay on the day).
  • Remember the 10:45am start time for Saturday Green / Yellow Ball to allow time for payments.

Wednesdays 4:30-5:30pm - Red / Orange Ball with Helen - Age Guide - 5-9 years - £5 Members / £6 Non-members - Text Helen on 07981 170322 to let her know you're coming or the session won't be on!

Saturdays 9:00-9:30am - Tiny Tots with Helen - Age Guide - 3-5 years - With Parent Participation! - £3

Saturdays 9:30-10:30am - Red Ball / Orange Ball with Helen - Age Guide - 5-9 years - £5 Members / £6 Non-members

Saturdays 10:45-11:45am - Green / Yellow Ball with Helen - Age Guide - 9-16 years - £5 Members / £6 Non-members (Please note new start time).

JUNIOR CLUB

 

JuniorClub Organised Play, Practice, Games, Refreshments

7-16 years

£3 Members / £6 Non-members
All standards welcome -
2-4pm Sunday afternoons.

Development Squads

 

Development Squads are for junior players who have in most cases had a go at entry level tennis and are showing a certain level of technical ability and especially the desire to focus more on improving their skills and starting to compete.

These squads are carefully arranged by the Coaching Team - if we think your child would be a good fit in a group, we will let you know and then you can use the appropriate Booking Link below for the suggested group and day if you decide to give it a go.

If your child would like to continue in a group, please make sure that we have your up to date e-mail address so that we can keep you informed of any news and upcoming events.

All bookings are online with full payment in advance for each 5-7 week block.

Maximum 8 Players Per Group, Kids Love Tennis & Want To Improve.

Academy

Academy Training includes ideally at least one group session, regular matchplay practice at Sunday Junior Club and an individual lesson. Extra matchplay and competition is part of the Academy training - some competitions may require extra payment.

Academy players are expected to be Amherst members, which means they get extra time to practise independently, plus they can earn Senior Status and play for the Club Junior and Senior Teams.

The Academy Squad is carefully arranged by the Coaching Team - if we think your child would be a good fit in a group, we will let you know and e-mail you a Booking Link for the group if you decide to give it a go.

If your child would like to continue in a group, please make sure that we have your up to date e-mail address so that we can keep you informed of any news and upcoming events.

All bookings are online with full payment in advance for each 5-7 week block or Direct Debit monthly payment for the whole 11-13 week term (Direct Debit now option closed for the Spring Term).

  • Compete Well For The Club Junior And Senior Teams
  • Develop Character And Life Skills.

Academy Players are expected to set an example and be role models for other junior players at the club by -

  • Joining Amherst LTC and keeping their Amherst LTC membership up to date.
  • Training, Learning and Competing with a positive attitude.
  • Helping coaches, club members and other players where possible.
  • Prioritising playing for club teams if asked.
  • Organising matchplay and practice outside of Academy session time.
  • Being a student of the game – learning independently.
  • Competing whenever possible in appropriate internal and external competitions, tournaments and events.
  • If awarded Senior Status at the club, to be especially careful of their behaviour and respectful to all senior club members, both on and off-court.
