This page lists the one-off events throughout the year you might to get involved with. These are in addition to the ongoing regular social and team activities which you can find details of on the Playing page on this website.

If you have ideas for an event, or would like to coordinate a club tournament, please let us know and we'll add it to this page!

April

  • ONGOING RE-SURFACING OF COURT 4 Mid-March to end-April This work will take approximately 4 weeks
  • TENNIS LEADERS COURSE (JUNIORS) Sunday April 26th, 9am-1pm Aimed at our younger players, 13 years onwards, this is about getting them starting out on the tennis career pathway, for example going on to support their local coach.
  • SUMMER LEAGUE MATCHES START Last week in April/first week in May For those members who play in our ladies, mens or mixed teams, the summer league starts. Matches on Tuesdays 6pm for mixed, Thursdays 6pm for ladies, Saturdays 2pm for men. This runs to the end of July.

May

  • CLUB'S SEASON 2026/27 STARTS Friday May 1st The club's membership year runs from 1st May to 30th April.  
  • BOX LEAGUE Friday May 1st Our first box league launches! Look out for round two in about 6-weeks' time if you missed it this time around. Read more here.
  • START OF CLUB TOURNAMENT May-September Over the course of the summer, the tournament runs, split into a number of categories for men, ladies and mixed, each of which consist of a series of knock-out rounds. All members encouraged to sign up. More details nearer the time. Read more about 2025 tournament here. This year's is a similar format.
  • COURT 4 GRAND OPENING Monday May 4th, 2-4pm On Bank Holiday Monday, everyone's welcome to come down, meet us, have a hit, and celebrate the opening of our re-vamped 4th court! Full details to be confirmed.
  • WORKDAY Sunday May 10th, 11am-1pm Stay on after social tennis and help keep out with weeding, mowing, painting, hedge-cutting and other similar tasks to keep on top of maintaining our grounds and clubhouse.
  • EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING Monday May 11th, 7.30-8.15pm After social tennis, in the clubhouse. The purpose of the meeting is to (1) seek members approval for changing the organisational status of Bamford tennis club from an Unincorporated Association to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, and (2) hear members opinions on the idea of Padel courts in the grounds of the tennis club. Check your emails for more details on these matters.
  • COMMITTEE MEETING Tuesday May 12th, 7.30pm The committee meets every couple of months to discuss and decide on every aspect of the ongoing running of the club. If there's anything you want to raise, contact the Secretary on: bamfordtennis.secretary@gmail.com
  • JUNIOR TOURNAMENT Sunday May 17th 1-4.30pm For school years 7-11 who can serve and rally. A trophy to play for. Details to follow.

July

  • WORKDAY Sunday July 5th, 11am-1pm Stay on after social tennis and help keep out with weeding, mowing, painting, hedge-cutting and other similar tasks to keep on top of maintaining our grounds and clubhouse.
  • OPEN EVENING Monday July 13th, 6-8pm Part of Bamford Carnival. Come down for the evening to meet us, find out more about the club and have a hit! Full details to be confirmed.

August

  • SUMMER CAMP FOR JUNIORS Mon 3, Tues 4, Wed 5 August, 9am - 12noon Fun tennis-based activities for juniors. More details will be released nearer the time.

September

  • WORKDAY Sunday September 20th, 11am-1pm Stay on after social tennis and help keep out with weeding, mowing, painting, hedge-cutting and other similar tasks to keep on top of maintaining our grounds and clubhouse.
  • FINALS DAY  Sunday 27th September A fun day for everyone, not just those taking part in the club tournament. There’ll be good tennis to watch, hopefully good weather, and food to share and enjoy. Sign up here Bamford Tennis Club Tournament 2026 – Fill in form by 19th April. 

October

November

  • AGM Friday November 13th Venue and time to be confirmed. The AGM is the club's chance, once a year, to celebrate and reflect on the year, and explore ideas for the year ahead. We also elect committee members. All members are welcome. Come along and have your say!

December

  • CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT Venue and time to be confirmed nearer the time for a fun half-day tournament to take place in the week between Christmas and New Year.
