This page lists the one-off events throughout the year you might to get involved with. These are in addition to the ongoing regular social and team activities which you can find details of on the Playing page on this website.

If you have ideas for an event, or would like to coordinate a club tournament, please let us know and we'll add it to this page!

May

  • JUNIOR DROP-IN SOCIAL (YEARS 3-7) Starts Saturday 30th May This is the first of a regular slot, 8.30-930am Saturday mornings until mid-July, for juniors in years 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 to come down and have fun at the tennis club! It is not coaching. It is run by volunteer parents. We did it last year and it was fun! 

June

  • FLOODLIGHTS UPGRADE Monday 8 and Tuesday 9, possibly Wed 10th We are upgrading our floodlights to improve the quality of lighting on Court 1, and extend lighting onto Court 2. Courts 1-3 will be closed for those days. Court 4 will still be available for tennis or pickleball.
  • Peak Physio and Injection at BTC, 6pm Monday 15th June Get some advice from James from Peak Physio and Injection, who is coming to the club for two hours. He'll start with a short talk focused on tennis elbow. This will be followed up a drop-in session for BTC members to get some individual advice (not treatment) from him about any of your own specific injuries.
  • Club Rackets at BTC, 6pm Monday 22nd June Come and try out a selection of tennis rackets at club social tennis night. Ian from ClubRackets.com will be at the club with a range of tennis rackets that you are welcome to try out if you're thinking of upgrading yours any time soon! While ClubRackets (just off Sharrow Vale in west Sheffield) do also stock pickle equipment, they don't yet have access to demo rackets for use at events like this, but we hope to be able to host similar for pickleball in the future.
  • BOX LEAGUE Round 2 starts late-June Your chance to play some competitive singles! Our first box league round runs to Friday 19th June. If you missed it first time around, you can join in how. Read more here.

July

  • WORKDAY Sunday July 5th, 11am-1pm Stay on after social tennis and help keep out with weeding, mowing, painting, hedge-cutting and other similar tasks to keep on top of maintaining our grounds and clubhouse.
  • OPEN EVENING Monday July 13th, 6-8pm Part of Bamford Carnival. Come down for the evening to meet us, find out more about the club and have a hit! Full details to be confirmed.

August

  • SUMMER CAMP FOR JUNIORS Mon 3, Tues 4, Wed 5 August, 9am - 12noon Fun tennis-based activities for juniors. More details will be released nearer the time.

September

  • FINALS DAY  Sunday 27th September A fun day for everyone, not just those taking part in the club tournament. There’ll be good tennis to watch, hopefully good weather, and food to share and enjoy. Sign up here Bamford Tennis Club Tournament 2026 – Fill in form by 19th April. 

October

  • COMMITTEE MEETING Tuesday October 6th, 7.30pm The committee meets every couple of months to discuss and decide on every aspect of the ongoing running of the club. If there's anything you want to raise, contact the Secretary on: bamfordtennis.secretary@gmail.com

November

  • AGM Friday November 13th Venue and time to be confirmed. The AGM is the club's chance, once a year, to celebrate and reflect on the year, and explore ideas for the year ahead. We also elect committee members. All members are welcome. Come along and have your say!

December

  • CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT Venue and time to be confirmed nearer the time for a fun half-day tournament to take place in the week between Christmas and New Year.
