Summer coaching programme

We have now agreed a summer coaching programme for the tennis club and look forward to seeing many of you there. There are opportunities for tots, through to juniors and adults including cardio tennis and a new programme for adult beginners. As numbers will need to be capped due to the number of courts and allocation of coaches it is best to book as soon as possible as places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Once on the site you can check the age groups for juniors.

Please note that there will be a break on the weekends of half term.

Should you have any questions regarding any of these sessions please get in touch with Jen at [email protected]

This programme is suitable for all adults who are new to tennis.  This course will introduce you to the basic strokes such as forehand, backhand and serve and set you on the pathway towards playing some social tennis and beyond. It will be supportive and reassuring in approach. All you need to do is bring yourself with a positive approach and ideally a racket although we do have some spare ones if you haven’t your own!

This offer is likely to be made available mid- May depending on uptake for Beginners stage 1:

Cardio tennis: This is fitness through tennis activity. It is a fast paced basket drill session mixed with fun games. You can book places on cardio tennis on a weekly basis and as many sessions or as few as you like.

Developing social tennis doubles: This programme will build on the Rusty Rackets groups now keen to develop their skills as doubles players and for social players keen to sharpen their doubles game. Although there will be some revisiting of basic techniques that underpin key strokes (e.g. forehand, serve, volleys) the emphasis will shift to doubles tactics (e.g. net play, return of serve) and court positioning. Sessions will be relaxed and supportive and include some coached doubles play.

Should you have any questions regarding any of these sessions please get in touch with Jen at [email protected]
