Teams - Summer League

Ladies Team

Last week the Ladies played their last league match for this year at home to Acle B.

Half time saw Chantelle and Anne / Dawn and Ros both 8-8. The second matches were not so balanced with Chantelle and Anne losing 4-12. Dawn and Ros lost 6-10, so an overall loss 26-38.

We are now waiting for last nights results between Easton and Wymondham, to see if the ladies stay in Div 3 or are relegated to Div 4.

Mens Team

Tuesday saw the final match of this year's Summer League campaign, with Cromer visting Blofield. Ironically both grass court clubs were unable to play on grass due to the weather, so the match was played again on the hard courts.

Jason and Robbie won their first match against the number 1 pair from Cromer 11-5. At the same time Mark Taylor and Colin won 12-4. The second pairings saw Jason and Robbie win 12-4 with Mark and Colin facing more of a challenge and eventually losing 6-10. Overall a win 41-23.

The team managed wins in the last four matches taking them (temporarily) to the top of Division 4. With both Cringleford and Taverham only one point behind, but with games in hand, it is likely that we will end up at least third - but who knows, the results of their remaining matches may go in our favour!

This was the first year in Div 4 so a third placing is a commendable result - well done to everyone in the squad - looking forward to another challenging league next summer.
