Mens Team
On 26 June, Colin, Phil Humphrey, Anton and Mark T travelled away to Taverham. The availability of members was limited due to recent hospital operation, injuries, Glastonbury and even a trip to A&E the night before the match. Thanks to Phil leaving the Royal Norfolk Show early and Mark T nursing a groin injury, we managed to put a team together for the match. Results went against us with Taverham winning 48-16.
This week Cringleford came to Blofield and despite rain during the day, the match was played on the grass and in good spirits. Colin, Robbie, Damian and Mark Risley took on a Cringleford team. The away captain admitted at the end of the match that they had probably fielded their strongest team and the result reflected this with both Blofield pairs losing both of their matches. Cringleford eventual worthy winners 48-16.
Despite drawing against both teams earlier in the league season, the results reflect the strength of play of Div 4 and depth of players some other clubs have.
The men have now slipped to 4th in Div 4 with the next match Friday 12 July against David Lloyd C away
Ladies Team
The Ladies had two matches this week on Monday and Wednesday. Monday saw Dawn, Anne, Sandra A and Ros travel to Easton College only to find their team included an American College player (Louise Booker), who was home for the Summer holidays - unfortunately!!! She was an amazing player and instrumental in securing a win for Easton 41-17
Wednesday saw Cromer B visiting Blofield to play their next match. With Anne, Karen, Dawn and Sandra A, Blofield managed to secure a well earned win 35-29.
The Ladies remain 5th in Div 3 with the next match on Tuesday 9 July at home to Aylsham B
