Welcome to Burnley Tennis Club
More Than a Tennis Club
Burnley Tennis Club is a modern, welcoming and inclusive venue with deep roots in the local community. Established in the 1930s, the club has continued to evolve over the years, growing into much more than a traditional tennis club. Today, we are proud to be a vibrant community hub where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together to play sport, improve wellbeing, learn new skills and build lasting connections.
Whether you are an experienced player, a complete beginner, a family looking for activities, or someone simply wanting to be part of a friendly local community, Burnley Tennis Club has something for you.
Our Tennis Facilities
We are proud to offer high-quality facilities that support both recreational and competitive tennis. The club has six all-weather courts, three of which are fitted with LED floodlights, allowing tennis to be played throughout the year. We also have a large, modern clubhouse that provides a welcoming space for members, visitors and the wider community.
From junior development and beginner sessions through to league tennis and social play, our club offers opportunities for everyone to enjoy the game in a relaxed, supportive and inclusive environment.
Coaching for All Ages and Abilities
Our coaching programme is designed to give both adults and children the chance to learn, improve and enjoy tennis at every stage of their journey. Sessions are delivered by experienced, qualified coaches who are passionate about helping players develop confidence, technique and enjoyment of the sport.
Whether you are picking up a racket for the first time, returning to tennis after a break, or looking to take your game to the next level, we provide coaching opportunities to suit all ages and abilities.
Social Tennis and Club Life
Burnley Tennis Club has always been about more than competition. We place huge value on creating a warm, social atmosphere where people feel welcome and included. Our regular social tennis sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays give members the chance to enjoy the game, meet new people and be part of a friendly club environment whilst enjoying a cup of team and a slice of cake
Our spacious clubhouse is open seven days a week and acts as the social heart of the club. Members, families and guests can enjoy facilities including table tennis, TV and Wi-Fi making it a place to relax, connect and spend time together off court as well as on it.
Community Outreach Offer
Burnley Tennis Club is much more than a traditional tennis club, it is a genuine community hub that supports local people and groups in many different ways.
Alongside our tennis offer, we run a wide range of community outreach activities designed to improve health, wellbeing, confidence and social connection. These include weekly cooking sessions, arts and crafts activities, support with maths and budgeting, support a dementia group that offers a safe and welcoming space for those living with dementia and their carers.
During the school holidays, we deliver HAF activities, helping children and families access fun, enriching experiences in a supportive setting. We also provide a broader sporting offer through the delivery of multi-sport sessions, including FREE cricket and hockey sessions, helping more people get active and try something new.
The club also supports people to develop employability skills, helping individuals build confidence and move closer to work, volunteering or further learning opportunities.
In addition, Burnley Tennis Club is proud to host the BFC in the Community Health & Wellbeing Hub, which promotes wellness for all through a wide range of activities and support. This important partnership further strengthens our role as a place where sport, health, learning and community come together.
Accessible and Inclusive for Everyone
We are committed to making Burnley Tennis Club accessible to all. Our venue includes disabled access and suitable facilities, helping ensure that everyone can enjoy the club and feel part of what we offer. Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do, and we are proud to provide opportunities that bring people together through sport and community activity.
