We welcome juniors to our club and run a variety of coaching classes for young players who wish to take up the sport. On Saturdays from 4-6pm, we have junior social tennis for our junior members to turn up and play. Junior members can also book courts at any time when the courts are available. For those interested in competitive tennis, we enter teams in the East Scotland leagues.

Our new head coach Marcin Tycner has now started up his junior classes on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Details of current blocks or camps is shown below.

Summer Term 2024 coaching plans

The coaching sessions started on Wednesday the 17th April. The first coaching block runs for 10 weeks and follows the schedule below:

 

Wednesday (started 17th April):

4.30-5.15pm Red & Orange (ages 5-9)

5.15-6pm Green & Yellow (ages 10-16)

 

Friday (starts 19th April)

2-2.45pm Red (ages 5-8)

2.45-3.30pm Orange (ages 9-10)

3.30-4.15pm Green (ages 10-12)

4.15-5pm Yellow (ages 12+)

 

Sunday (starts 21st April)

10-10.45am Red & Orange (ages 5-9)

10.45-11.30am Green & Yellow (ages 10-16)

 

Each lesson is 45mins long and the cost for the block of 10 weeks is £70.

If you have attended coaching before it is best to attend the same class as before. For the joint Red & Orange and Green & Yellow I'll have an assistant who can help with splitting the groups according to ages and abilities.

The first block will give us an indication of what we can offer for the following blocks. More sessions can be added for the most popular age groups and children can be offered more match practice, variety of sessions and extra training. We could also add the 'blue stage' which is for 3-5year olds and it is run as a Parent and Child class. If you have children of that age and you would like to introduce them to tennis you can let me know and I'll keep it in my mind for the next coaching schedule.

Please remember to join Corstorphine Tennis Club as all the players attending coaching need to be members of the club.
