Membership at Dunnington Tennis Club
Membership of Dunnington Tennis Club assumes acceptance of Club Rules, and our affiliation with the LTA requires all members to familiarise themselves with the Club's Safeguarding, Diversity and Inclusion policies. All these documents are displayed in the pavilion and are on the website under the Safeguarding tab. All new members will recieve a welcome pack once they join the tennis club and have the opportunity to meet with one of the committee members down at the courts as a way of introduction.
Fair Play & Court Etiquette
Fair play is an essential value of our club. We follow the guidance of the LTA and are committed to ensuring that tennis is played in a fair, open and inclusive nature at all levels. Fair play is just as relevant in a fun game with friends, in competitive local league matches or a Grand Slam. On court fair play includes:
- Good sportsmanship, honesty and respect whether you win or lose
- Learning to challenge yourself and improve social skills
- Taking responsibility for your actions, calling scores and lines clearly and fairly, even if it costs you the point
- Learning and following the rules and being a role model to younger people
- Everyone to uphold fair play both on and off court whether it be players, parents, coaches, officials or volunteers.
