Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility and the Welfare Officer is an important part of our committee to promote this within our club. South Yorkshire Visually Impaired Tennis Club Welfare Officers are David Wallace and Marie Pierce.  Marie and David can be reached via email on syvitc@outlook.com. Our Safeguarding Policy should be read and understood by all our members, volunteers and sighted guides and can be found here (accessible version here)

Safe to Play is LTA campaign that aims to ensure that nothing is more important than the safety and wellbeing of those involved in our sport.  We know that children (U18) and Adults at Risk have a right to enjoy tennis and events, activities and competitions and these should be planned and provided with an emphasis on the importance of safety and well-being.  If we organise events, we have a responsibility to take all reasonable steps to ensure that the tennis environment is as safe as possible.  More information can be found by reading Safeguarding at Events, Activities and Competitions policy
