Weekly Update!
▪ Acle Tennis Club Tournament!
Hopefully all members have had an email regarding this year's tournament with an entry form attached, however if you have not please email secretary@acletennisclub.org.uk. Entry forms are available in the club house and pavilion.

▪ New Adult Daytime Classes
We have two new adult daytime classes starting in a June.
Liz will be starting a Tennis Xpress class on Tuesday mornings at 9:30am.
This is a class suited for those either new to tennis or coming back after a break. We use slower balls and go through all the shots and rules of play. £6 a class.
Cardio on Thursday at 9:30am fun fitness with music and... tennis!(We have rackets you can borrow!)
Starting June 14th. £6 a class
▪ Match Report
Mens B - 41 Wymondham A - 23
After a 16-day break Acle B made the trip to Wymondham on Father's Day. None of the three fathers representing Acle (Ian, Joe and Graham) had been served up a fry up breakfast although Tom had taken pity on his Dad and tossed one of the huge pile of pancakes he had made for his own breakfast Ian's way!
Wymondham A had fielded a unexpectantly weakened team and so the hungry Dads quickly sensed an opportunity. Graham and Joe played some excellent tennis to beat Owen Tudor and Will Western 9-7 and went on to be Acle's top pair with 21 games. Ian and Tom also played well and ended up with 20 games. The final result was a 41-23 win! The team took a moment to enjoy the feeling of actually winning a match before the Dads raced home to open all their presents (at least that is what they hoped!).
Mens D - 38 Easton college - 26
The two sides were evenly matched during the first two sets with Chris and Phil drawing 8 games each with the Easton pair and Colin and Dave just edging their games 9/7. So, everything to play for in part two. Both Acle pairs stepped up their games in the second period, Chris and Phil winning 11/5 and Colin and Dave winning 10/6. Both pairs achieved the same overall winning margin of 19 for and 13 against for an overall win of 38/26. The small group of D team players is starting to jell together at the start of the season I was thing of not getting relegated, but now I am thinking of something else.
Ladies D
The ladies D team have played their first few matches will great spirit although we have yet to experience our first win.
14th May- Margaret and Julia won one of their matches v David Lloyd C 9-7. Final score Acle 22-David Lloyd C 42.
29th May- Helen and Liz beat David Lloyd B winning both matches 11-5. Final score Acle 28- David Lloyd B 36.
We came close to victory last Wednesday 6th June v Reepham Lilacs, final score Acle 29- Reepham 35. Shirley and Kathy winning one match 11-5 and Alison and Rachael winning one match 9-7. Unfortunately, despite a great effort we couldn't win enough games in our other matches against the stronger pair to win overall.
▪ Running of Monday Club Night

Clubspark now have their own app which makes booking courts easy. It can be downloaded onto smartphones, ipads or ipod touches, just search for 'clubspark' in the app store and download for free.
▪ Facebook Group
We have created a new Acle Tennis Club Group on Facebook which (unlike our Facebook page) allows any member to post comments, pictures or other information that they would like to share with the club. All sessions open to all ages and abilities. No need to book a place just turn up, pay and play. These are friendly relaxed groups, offering the chance to have fun while getting fit at the same time. We would love to see more members playing on a regular basis. Sessions often end with a well- earned drink in the social club.

▪Don't forget that you can buy new balls from the club. Please call Mike Lake on 01493750337 or see Ann Nicholls down at the courts.
▪Money in the safe: could all members please put a note with any money put into the safe detailing who the money is from and what it is for. Please also make sure the club room door locks properly when you leave.
▪Members with a guest: Reminder for members who attend the courts with a guest to kindly put the names on the form pinned to the Club Room wall and put a note with the payment before depositing it in the safe. There are pens, paper and bags provided.
