Corby Tennis Centres Performance Programme

Corby Tennis Centre also offers players working to a higher playing and competitive level the opportunity to develop their tennis further. The performance programme aims to provide the most supportive environment possible for players who wish to maximise their potential in tennis (Performance Pathway). The programme is designed to meet the LTA's long term development guidelines in terms of quantity and has a bespoke syllabus designed by our head performance coach whom spent a number of years working for the LTA as performance co-ordinator. This level of expertise ensures quality content delivery, which currently supports numerous county, regional and national level players.

The Centre acts, due to its geographical location, as a performance hub for players from south Leics, south Lincs, west Cambs, as well as Northants. All players in the programme are expected to compete fortnightly, attain a minimum county level playing standard, and contribute positively to the working environment of the group (Programme Expectations). We have various days in the year where parents of players aged 6/7 are invited to the performance journey at Corby, and those with children aged 8-12 come in to discuss the current programmes and suggested next steps on the players' journey's.

For those aged 12+ we have Craig Haworth (LTA Professional) heading up the programme, and Mark Taylor (USPTR) taking training squads. In this area we have considerable experience of helping players develop strong life skills, as they develop their tennis. We can help guide individual programmes depending on the end goal, and have worked with players up to No1 in National Rankings, as well as numerous players that have gone on to have National & International success. Along the way, we can help gain access to High Performance Centres, offer competition advice & support, develop Hitting Buddies to help grow your programme, develop you as a Coaching Assistant, teach racquet stringing, and advise on scholarships to British schools specialising in tennis, as well as the terrific opportunity available to those looking for a scholarship out to a United States University. With the right person, we may also have the opportunity to work with the LTA to offer a Coaching Apprenticeship.
