Kyle Edmund – pure brilliance! At Aussie Open he is through to semi-final after beating World No3 Grigor Dimitrov 6-4 3-6 6-4 6-4, and now faces World No6 Marin Cilic in his first ever Grand Slam semi final.  Cilic won through his ¼ final when Rafa Nadal had to retire in the course of the 5th set. It is sure to be a real ‘slug fest’ between the Brit and Croatian, as both possess a huge amount of firepower in their games, with both players determined to impose their significant weapons on the other. The match is being screened on Eurosport at 8.00am Thursday morning.

Other Brits having a great tournament are Aiden McHugh who is through to the boys 18U singles final, and Dom Inglot who playing with Marcus Daniel is through to the Mens Doubles ¼ final. It’s a timely confidence boost for Edmund and Inglot who have both been named in the Davis Cup squad that faces Spain away on 2-4th February, along with Cameron Norrie, Jamie Murray and Liam Broady.
