Joe Tyler wins $25,000 Mens Doubles Event

Joe Tyler's rapid rise up the ATP Mens Doubles ranking continued last week with his first tournament win at Roehampton in the $25k Pro Series event.  Playing with partner Giles Hussey they won their first round 6-4 6-4 vs Maceo Simpson and Raffaello Papajcik. They then beat the #1 seeds Luke Johnson and Ben Jones (both ranked top 300 in doubles), 6-7(7-9) 6-2 11-9, saving 2 match points in the process. In the semi-finals, Tyler & Hussey beat Ewan Moore and David Quayle, 7-6(7-2) 6-1. Then in the final played the #2 seeds, Mark Whitehouse (who won the week before) and Arthur Fery (who played Wimbledon doubles this year) 7-5 6-3! This takes Joe's ranking up to 719 in doubles in the world, up over 1000 places in the last month.

Joe has now travelled over to Mexico, where he has got straight into the Main Draw in singles and doubles. That is promising for the next four weeks, where he hopes to further improve both his singles and doubles rankings.
