Club Rules

We are all responsible for making tennis enjoyable, fun and safe’ (LTA, 2016)

The following rules are designed to ensure fairness and allow all members to enjoy the club’s facilities.

 

Court Usage

Junior Members are allowed equal playing facilities until 18.30. Juniors may use the courts after 18.30 if not required by adult members.

Promoted juniors under the age of 18 may play at club sessions and in tournaments.

Children under 13 years may only use the courts if supervised by an adult member. Parents/guardians please read Supervision of Under 18s.

To keep our facilities in good condition, no wheeled transport (such as bikes and skateboards) or glass bottles on court.

 

Court Dress

Non-marking tennis shoes only. No cross trainers as they tear the court surface.

Appropriate sports clothing only. Players to wear a shirt at all times.

 

Membership Identity

Membership is monitored via the Online Court Booking system which is an extremely effective method of checking members and guests playing on our courts.

Names of all participants should be added to bookings so membership may be checked.

Each participant should be marked as either Member or Guest.

 

Guests

Guests to the club are welcome but must be accompanied by a member. A guest is permitted to play a maximum of six times in any one season.

A non member receiving individual coaching should pay a guest fee to the coach and after six sessions should become a member of the club.

 

Guest Fees

Adults £2.50 weekdays up to 16.30, £5 at all other times.

Juniors aged 11-17 are £2.50.

Juniors aged 10 and under are £1.25.

Coaching

Only coaches from our coaching team are permitted to coach individuals at the club.

A non-member receiving individual coaching should pay a guest fee to the coach and after six sessions should become a member of the club.

A member who is selected for a county squad or higher, whether at senior or junior level, may receive performance coaching from an LTA registered Level 4 or Level 5 guest coach once approved by the club. See Guest Performance Coaches policy for full details.

 

Disciplinary & Appeal Procedure

 

If any member considers that any of the above rules are being contravened please inform a member of the committee.
