Saturday 14 th September saw the Cullercoats Annual Tennis Tournament held in sunny weather with matches played out in their usual enthusiastic way and players of all ages involved.

Showing the benefits of all-tear-round coaching, Mini tennis junior winners were Isabella Phillips, Archie Duckworth, Ethan Bain, Lucas McNeillie, Amelie Atchia, Jacob Atchia, Scarlett French and William OHara.

Full ball singles junior victors were: Oliver Cass, Aimee Knowles, Sam Knowles and Harriet Mutch. The 12s doubles was won by Jack Scott and Oliver Cass; the 16s boys by Sam Knowles and Oliver Cass: and Aimee Knowles and Sophie Jackson the 16s girls.

The adult competition provided some new young winners in this years singles finals : Sam Knowles and Emma Charlton.

The ladies' doubles was won by Svetlana Freeman and Rachel Knowles; the men's by Richard West and Sam Knowles and the mixed doubles by Lauren Jones and Stuart Cass.

Lauren and Stuart consolidated their winning mixed doubles partnership by winning their 11th mixed doubles title, an all time record, and at 13 years old, Sam Knowles became the youngest ever winner of both the men's singles and doubles titles.
