Here are some comments from some of our participants.

“Walking tennis for me with acute osteo arthritis in the right shoulder has brought me back on a tennis court. This is a real pleasure since with the soft balls and the scoring with the double bounce rule which keeps the players in the middle of the court, I can play my limited shots including volleys and in the long rallies the adrenaline feel is still there. A thank you to the organisers at Chedworth for giving me back the fun of tennis”

“Coming back from a serious ankle injury Walking Tennis has been the perfect reintroduction to sport. As well as the obvious health benefits of fresh air and gentle exercise it is great fun. The sessions are really well run and we have met a lovely group of people too”

“I was surprised that Walking Tennis was so skilful.  Greatly enjoyable, a fun way to end the week.  I hadn’t expected to become hooked.  Just thought I’d give it a go to support Hill & Valley’s initiative but to my amazement loved it!”

“All the comments I have heard to date are positive ones, everyone seems to be enjoying not only the physical side but also the social benefits. It is lovely to see people who thought they would never pick up a racket again getting involved, having fun and keen to keep going”

"The walking tennis sessions have allowed me to keep playing the game I love while waiting for a date for a hip replacement. I can’t run anymore so walking tennis is ideal; it’s also nice to see other club members back on court again who had given up playing. The sessions are really well run with our safety a paramount concern; we can have lots of fun in a well structured way and it’s interesting to explore different tactics for winning points. I am delighted that it is available every week and we regularly get eight or more players, which is great for a small rural tennis club. I am so grateful for this opportunity"
