Head Coach - Andy Dowsett

ESSEX DEVELOPMENT COACH 2024

Andy has educated over 3,000 coaches, spanning three decades.  As well as authoring books on tennis, Andy has lectured around the world on his mini-tennis systems, educating coaches, and now parents, on how to bring the best out of players and keep them in the game.

Andy has produced two national champions in both Denmark and the UK, and trained GB player Olly Beadle who he travelled to the Australian Open with. But with his worldwide system he is no stranger to making everyone he coaches a great competitor in the game of tennis.

As a coach, educator and writer Andy is a trusted and reliable source in the world of tennis, and is one of very few tennis coaches to have gained his PTR Level 5 Master of Tennis Performance in 2017. Alongside this he also holds the LTA master coach accreditation.

Adam Jessett

For specific sessions, Andy will be assisted by Adam.

Adam has been a coach for over 18 years and qualified through the PTR,  holding 'Professional' grade in adult and junior coaching. He recently completed the PTR performance course gaining 'Instructor' grade. 

He enjoys helping children develop a passion for tennis in a fun and relaxed environment.

Adam is also a racket and restringing specialist. He has restrung rackets for players on the ATP and WTA tour, so get in touch for lessons and restringing.

Janine Brecknell 

Janine Brecknell is a fantastic coach and specifically leads a range of mid week coaching sessions for adults.

Janine started playing tennis as a teenager and has never stopped, playing club team tennis across the UK.  Having raised a family, she looked to expand her tennis brain by training as a coach.  She has a particular interest in developing women players at club level and encouraging adult learners to advance their game. Check out our timetable – Janine is leading on “Tuesday Tennis Aces”, "Adult Improvers" and “Racket Refresher” sessions.
