Inclusive Tennis Event at Keyworth Tennis Club
Tennis Teamup with KTC, Aebal Leisure and Patrick Smith Tennis
On 17th April we held an inclusive tennis event at the club to allow a group of young adults with learning and mobility difficulties to experience tennis games – some of them for the first time.
Coach Patrick Smith led the group of 12 people (plus supporters) through an afternoon of tennis themed games and activities, carefully selected so everyone could join in and have some fun.
The games ranged from simple catching and throwing to rallies with each other and against a ball machine.
The activities were mixed with breaks for refreshments including pizzas, drinks, cakes and tray bakes, ensuring everyone had the energy to carry on playing.
There was a high level of fun, excitement and enthusiasm.
We are hoping this is something we can repeat, possibly on a regular basis.
The event was well supported by Susan Allan, Notts LTA diversity and inclusion officer
