In August club chairman Howard hosted a Norse themed event, featuring a battle of the Vikings and Anglo Saxons on the courts followed by a well received Swedish meal.

For September it was the annual Battle of Britain contest led by John Stansfield. Of course the RAF team triumphed over their German opposition...victory for the home nation for what seems like the 40th year in succession. As tradition dictates a meal of sausages, potatoes and peas was enjoyed in the club house, followed by pineable and ice cream!
