Club Rules and Terms and conditions for the Legends Tennis Centre 

 

INTRODUCTION

To help you get the best out of the Legends Tennis Centre and to understand our responsibilities to you and your responsibilities to us, please read these rules and terms and conditions.  The language we use should make these terms and conditions as clear as possible. If you have any questions, a member of our team at the club will be happy to help.

The rules of the Legends Tennis Centre apply to all persons on the premises whether playing tennis, spectating or visiting the centre for any other purpose.

 

ADULT, JUNIOR & FAMILY MEMBERSHIP

All membership applications are made online on the Legends Tennis Centre Website:  www.legendstennis.co.uk.

Payment is made by credit card or direct debit online or independently by BACS payment at the time of registration.  No membership will be active until payment has been received.

All annual membership applications are for a full 12 months whether paid in full or by monthly instalments. Any non-payment of monthly payments will remain due until cleared.

All memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.

All memberships will be deemed expired 7 days after non-payment of any renewal payment.

 

TENNIS COURT BOOKINGS

All court bookings are to be made on the Legends Tennis Centre Website:  www.legendstennis.co.uk except for Junior members booking after 7pm who need to book through Reception and Haileybury Staff who also need to book through Reception.  Bookings are not allowed to be made for other people.

Payment for all court bookings must be made at the time of booking and are non-refundable in the 24 hours prior to the start of the booking.

Adult Members may book 14 days in advance.

Adults using a ball machine need to book a court in the normal way. 

Juniors using a ball machine must be accompanied by a responsible Adult who needs to pay £5 for a Member and £10 for a Non-Member.

Junior Members may book 7 days in advance for daytime courts and 48 hours for evenings after 7pm.

Haileybury Pupils & Staff may book 48 hours in advance.

Non-Members may book tennis courts 24 hours in advance.

Junior members, Haileybury pupils and Haileybury staff may only book 1 court per day for a maximum of 1 hour and may only play for one hour.  i.e.  If Junior member A books a court and plays with Junior member B, they have both used their free hour entitlement.  If they wish to play for longer non-member court fees will apply.

Players are asked to vacate promptly at the end of their allocated booking.  Any players who continue to play beyond the finish time of their booking will be charged once their time exceeds 10 minutes into the next half an hour slot.

Management may deem the outdoor courts unplayable if they believe that the weather conditions render them unsafe.

                                        

On arrival at the tennis centre, all players must validate their court booking with a member of staff at reception or in the café prior to going onto the tennis courts. 

All Guests must register with Reception and pay the appropriate Guest Fee, prior to going onto the tennis court (please see rates below).  It is the responsibility of the member who booked the court to ensure that guest fees are paid.

Members may host a maximum of 3 non-members at one time and must accompany them at all times.

Members may not book courts for guests to use without them present.

Guests and Non-Members must abide by the rules set for the club members.

All players must supply their own rackets and balls unless agreed with Reception prior to playing.

 

For Junior and Haileybury Staff & Pupils only - If a booked court is no longer required it must be cancelled within 24 hours of the booking.  Failure to do so or a no show will result in a fee of £10 being charged and suspension of booking rights.

Haileybury Pupil Membership will run each academic year from September - August.  All memberships will be renewed each September and membership applications will only be activated once pupil names have been approved by the school.

Haileybury Staff Membership will only be active to full time staff as approved by the Haileybury Human Resources office.

 

GUEST FEES

Adult guest fees are £11 per hour.

Junior guests pay £6 each per hour when playing with at least one member.

All adults pay the adult guest fees regardless of the type of member that they are playing with.  It is the responsibility of the member to pay the guest fee.

 

JUNIOR COACHING PROGRAMME & HOLIDAY CAMPS

Full payment is required of all coaching programme fees prior to the start of the course.  No children are allowed to participate in the Junior coaching programme if no fees have been paid.

Junior coaching programme enrolments are to be made on the Legends Tennis Centre website:  www.legendstennis.co.uk or at Reception.

Course fees are non refundable and non transferable.

All participants are obliged to inform Legends Tennis Centre in writing of any special care needs, allergies or medical conditions that could affect their safety at the club.

In the case of injury to a player where they are unable to participate in the coaching programme a part refund may be granted at the discretion of the management.  In such circumstances, proof of the injury from a medical expert may be required at the time that the refund is requested, and the refund will not exceed 50% of the classes missed

 

ADULT COACHING PROGRAMME

All adult coaching sessions are to be booked and paid for in advance of the session on the Legends Tennis Centre website:  www.legendstennis.co.uk.  Adult sessions may be cancelled if more than 24 hours notice is given and are not transferable.

All adult sessions must have at least 4 participants enrolled by 7pm on the evening prior to the session in order for it to run.

 

ATTIRE & COURT COURTESY

Flat soled, Non-marking tennis shoes are to be worn at all times on the tennis courts.  Players will be asked to vacate the courts if the club deems the shoes inappropriate

Recognised sports clothing must be worn and shirts must be worn at all times.

Mobile phones are to be switched off or kept on silent whilst on the tennis courts.  No phones are to be used on the courts, other than coaches updating their registers at the start of each group session.

Food and hot drinks are not permitted on the tennis courts at any time and cold drinks must be in a sealed container.  Chewing gum is not permitted.

Players must wait until a break in play has occurred before proceeding quickly and quietly behind the court.

Spectators must watch from the designated viewing areas within the club and are not permitted on the tennis courts.

Members are not permitted to provide coaching or hitting services on the club premises without prior written agreement from the Management.

Players must show consideration to other players and staff at all times

 

GENERAL RULES

Bad language is not to be used in any area of the club facility.

Smoking is not permitted in any area of the club or Haileybury campus

Dogs are not permitted on the club premises except for assistance dogs.

Under no circumstances are video or photographs to be taken on the club facilities without prior written consent from the management and the completion of the Club’s consent form.

Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times whilst using the facility unless attending a coaching session or club activity led by a club coach or official.  It is the responsibility of the accompanying adult to ensure the safety of their children at all time whilst on the premises.

Due care must be taken by all persons entering the indoor courts through the revolving door to ensure the safety of all persons in the Tennis Centre.

No persons are permitted into either of the storage areas to the sides of the dome

The club will be closed annually for Haileybury Speech Day in the Summer term.  The club will also be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

The management reserves the right to close the facility, to alter programmes and court bookings or organise events as they see fit.

 

OPEN ACCESS & EQUALITY

The club operates an open access policy and is committed to the equal treatment for all members, visitors and employees.  The management requires that all members, visitors and employees abide by and adhere to the requirements of the relevant equalities legislation, including the Race Relations Act 1976, Sex Discrimination Act 1975, Disability Discrimination Act 1995, Age Discrimination Act 2006 as well as any amendments to these Acts and any new legislation.

 

LIABILITY

Legends Tennis Centre and it’s employees shall be under no obligation and cannot accept responsibility in respect of the death and injury of members, their children, guests or any loss or damage to their property whilst on the premises of the tennis centre including the car parks, paths and all external areas; however such death, loss, injury or damages may be caused.

We cannot accept liability or pay compensation for cancellation or reduction of service due to acts out of our control.  Such acts include:  war, threats or acts of terrorism, fire, flood, severe weather, natural disaster or engineering issues.

 

Any amendments to these rules and terms and conditions will be advised with a notice displayed on the club website and on a club notice board.
