What do we do?

Our #Tennis4AllLincolnshire Team is coninuing the fine work started by Richard Edgley, our first Disability Tennis Coordinator who passed away in November 2020.

Our Disability Tennis programme for 2024 and beyond is rebranded #Tennis4AllLincolnshire. This is to help signpost that disability covers a whole range of obvious and not so obvious disabilities, impairments and illnesses and we wish to Open Tennis Up for ALL!

“Disability Tennis is just Tennis”, said Richard Edgley.

To deliver this vision we have partnered with We Do Tennis who already have extensive experience in this area.

The programme is led by Tony Knappett, Head of Disability at WDT. Tony is supported by the current team of Natalie Knights (Bannatyne TC), Will Mason (Boston TC) and Jane Hunter (Louth TSC). Over the coming weeks we’ll be looking to add further members to the team to cover the Lincoln, Lincs South and Lincs North areas. Keep a look out for this information.

The Lincolnshire Tennis Management Committee have initially set aside £6,000 of our LTA Participation funding to deliver this programme in 2024. In addition, we’ll be looking to draw down further funding from the LTA’s Open Court Programme and from other 3rd party providers.

The programme will be overseen by Rachel Opie, our Head of Participation & Growth, and supported by Matt Elkington, LTA Disability Development Partner.

We can’t easily express how excited we are about this and will be sharing our progress over the coming months across social media.
