What do we do?

Proud to Serve up Tennis to EVERYONE in Lincolnshire!

Our #Tennis4AllLincolnshire Team is coninuing the fine work started by Richard Edgley, our first Disability Tennis Coordinator who passed away in November 2020.

Since January 2024 our Disability Tennis programme was rebranded as #Tennis4AllLincolnshire. This is to help signpost that disability covers a whole range of obvious and not so obvious disabilities, impairments and illnesses and we wish to Open Tennis Up for ALL!

“Disability Tennis is just Tennis”, said Richard Edgley.

To deliver this vision we have partnered with We Do Tennis who have extensive experience in this area.

The programme is led by Tony Knappett, Head of Disability at WDT. Tony is supported by an experienced  team including Will Mason (Boston TC), Jane Hunter (Louth TSC), Emma Mastin (Boston TC) and Darren Taxis (Grantham TC). We are alweays looking to add further members to the team.

The Lincolnshire Tennis Management Committee have set aside £6,000pa of our LTA Participation funding to deliver this programme. In addition, we’ll be looking to draw down further funding from the LTA’s Open Court Programme and from other 3rd party providers.

The programme is overseen by our Head of Participation & Growth, and supported by Matt Elkington, LTA Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Programme Manager - Disabled People.

The following video, published by the the Tennis Foundation in October 2018, shows the great work being done on Diversity & Inclusion at Grantham Tennis Club. Despite its age, the message is just as relevant now as it was then. Please do watch it.
