Despite a number of obstacles during construction the new floodlit all-weather courts were completed on schedule and a lot faster than a number of members anticipated.  Whilst awaiting for an official opening the club decided to allow play on them particularly as we were in the midst of the club tournament and court time on the existing courts was at a premium.  So the unofficial opening was celebrated by playing two matches of mixed doubles with the participants representing those who had given much to the club over the years plus a couple of our most promising juniors.
