I am Matt Stewart the Junior Secretary at Lymm Tennis Club. We have a thriving Junior section with a wide range of activities and events to support all ages and standards of play. Everyone is welcome!
Coaching
Whether you’re just getting started or you’re playing at a high level, our Coaching team at Lymm is passionate about developing our juniors. Allan Morton, County Development coach of the year (2023), leads our coaching team. The coaches run a variety of group tennis lessons to suit all abilities. In addition, 1-2-1 coaching sessions can also be arranged.
Junior Club Nights
Junior Nights run on Friday’s between 5.00 and 7.00 from March to December. These are split into two sessions with Mini Tennis players (school year 5 and below) playing between 5.00 and 6.15 and the older Juniors (School Year upwards) playing between 5.00 and 7.00. In line with LTA guidance, Mini players must
be supervised by an adult off court and also on court if they wish to stay beyond 6:30pm.
These nights are supervised on court by Allan Morton and his team, providing fun tennis for all junior ages. Friday nights are not just about the kids, it’s a great social event for families. We have a fully stocked bar and regularly have external caterers to provide top quality, freshly prepared, hot food. It is a great way for parents and carers to kick start the weekend!
Team Tennis
We operate a range of junior teams, from age 6 to 18, and play in both summer and winter leagues so if you want to play competitively, we will find a team for you. In addition, if you do represent the club, you will be kitted out in our Lymm Tennis Club junior kit thanks to our sponsor St Pierre.
Tournaments
The club hosts regular Junior Tournaments which are a great way to improve skills, make friends and enjoy the fantastic setting the club offers. Each year we also host a junior Club Championship and at the end of the season we host a Junior Awards night with awards for each age Group up for grabs.
