HOW TO PLAY
There are lots of ways to get the most from your membership and we have something for all types of players from social to competitive tennis.
A lot of club communication runs through WhatsApp groups. We have many groups for social, ladders and teams. To get your name added to the right groups you can contact Jo Payne 07766721799, Andrew Payne 07843 363 611 or Karen Maskell 07779300129 and they will be able to help you. If you are unsure who to play with, the WhatsApp groups are really useful. Many members book a court and then post a message asking for other members to join them.
COURT BOOKING
You can book a court through the booking page on our website or download the Clubspark Booker App for Android and iPhones.
COACHING
We can offer a wide range of coaching from one to one to group coaching. There are also coached sessions for Hit Fit and Rusty Rackets which are also a great way of meeting other players. We have three coaches so our programme is extensive.
SOCIAL TENNIS
The club has club social evenings where you can turn up and there are organised mix-in games with fellow club members. Balls are provided. Another great way of meeting other club members.
Monday Rusty Rackets social 7-8.30pm
Club social Wednesday 7-9pm - An evening for all club members.
Sunday 10am-midday - Mix in tennis for all abilities.
TOURNAMENTS AND SOCIAL EVENTS
We pride ourselves on being a very friendly club. We run a lot of events for players which are hugely enjoyable. We have open days where all are welcome and club tournaments. We also run the increasingly popular Fizz Friday for the ladies. You can get details of all our events , through our website, our monthly newsletter and on our events board at the club.
JUNIORS
We run an extensive coaching programme for juniors and they have their own ladder tournaments . Holiday Camps are run throughout the school holiday periods.
LADDERS
We run informal box ladders for singles, men's doubles and mixed doubles tennis. To get your name added you can contact Karen Maskell for the doubles ladder and Stuart Anderson for the singles ladder. More details are found on our events page.
LEAGUE TENNIS
We have a growing squad of players that compete in the Swindon and District league throughout the year. If you would like to get involved you can contact Neil Emery . Details of our league play can be found here.
ADMINISTRATION
Our club is entirely run by volunteers. If you have skills you can offer to help with the development of Marlborough Tennis, then please get in touch with our chairman Andrew Payne . Throughout the year there are many occasions when we need the help of volunteers to maintain the club. We have group gardening days and rotas for maintenance. Details will be emailed to you or you can contact Gareth Clarke if you wish to help out.
