The Northumberland Ladies County Cup Team were in Group 2 playing in Sunderland from the 22nd to 24th November 2019
After convincing wins against Sussex and Somerset on the first two days, they faced the mighty Yorkshire on the Sunday for the promotion play off.
The Ladies went 3-0 down in the early rounds but came back to level the singles at 3-3.
The first two doubles were shared so at 4-4 the match came down to the Number 1 pairings who for Northumberland were Amy Hoburn and Alex Walker. Their match went to a 3rd set match tie break which Amy and Alex won 10-5 to secure promotion back to Group 1 for 2020.
This was without doubt a wonderful achievement for the Ladies, particularly given how little some of the team have competed over the last couple of years.
