Following the renovation works that have been carried out and while we are appointing a new tennis operator to manage this fantastic opportunity - the courts at Northumberland Heath Recreation Ground will be offered FREE OF CHARGE for a limited amount of time. Simply click on the 'Booking' tab to secure your slot.
Please note, this offer will only be for a limited period and (although free tennis will still be available at sites throughout the week), charges are being reintroduced so that income can be reinvested back into the courts to keep them at a good standard and safeguard their long-term future.
Introduction
Northumberlamd Heath Recreation Ground is home to 4 hard surface tennis courts, which have recently been refurbished thanks to funding through the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) Tennis Foundation and UK Government .
Northumberland Heath Recreation Ground actually offers the opportunity to take part in a range of different leisure activities - with a play park, basketball court, football and rugby facilities on site, as well as a bowling green (run by local consortium).
Getting here
- By car - the tennis courts can be accessed via Sussex Road and, although there is some on street parking, this is limited.
- By public trasnport - the nearest public transport is a 400m walk through the park on Parsonage Manorway where the B12 bus stops. Alternatively Erith Road at the bottom of Brook Street is serviced by the 89, 229, 602 and 669 buses and is an 800m walk up Brook Street and Sussex Road.
