The Club Championships 

PLTC's club championships have been running since 1885! Become part of history by winning the club championships! The tournament normally runs from the end of June to the second weekend of July. Events include men's and ladies singles and doubles, Boys and girls U21 singles, and mixed doubles.   

PLTC Handicap Tournament

The people's tournament! Players are given a handicap so that all matches should be close whatever level you play.

Handicap system: players will be given a handicap "score" based on their ability that they take into each game. For example, if your handicap is +15, and your opponent's is Love, you start each game 15-0 ahead. Some players will have minus scores to take into each game. Remember, handicap games take longer, so don't over-commit yourself. The decision of the handicap allocater is final!

The Penarth Open

This is the club's flagship tournament for members and players from outside of the club. The tournament is an LTA grade 3 event and has grown in popularity over the years making it the largest grade 3 event in Wales.  The tournament hosts events for 8&U all the way up to O45s. It takes place at the end of July.

The Junior Championships

This is the junior's version of the club championship. Organised by our head coach, it is a fun week long event that is the highlight of the year for many juniors and parents! The tournament always takes place during the first week of the summer holidays. 

Box Leagues

The club organises a series of box leagues for singles and mixed doubles for members to get regular match play within the club. They are a great way to meet new players to play against. The leagues are run by the coaching team via a separate WhatsApp group. Members are invited to join at the start of each new round of leagues.

The Prosecco Cup

Each Bank Holiday Monday the social team host another round of THE PROSECCO CUP with Coffee, Pastries, Play, The Stig, A Beady eye on Footfaults  and Big Prize Ceremony on the final bank holiday weekend of August. Allmadult playing members are welcome to attend to join in a fun and fast tournament.
