Regatta and Duck Race at The Rising Sun

On Sunday 26th August The Rising Sun held their annual Regatta and Duck Race. They very kindly allowed Pensford Tennis Club to organise the Duck Race and benefit from the profits.

So, on the wet and windy Sunday of the bank holiday weekend a group of hardy souls from the tennis club donned coats, wellies (and waders!) and set about selling ducks to the many revellers who were gathering at the pub to enjoy live music, delicious barbecue, boat races and of course the duck race.

Much fun was had by all, despite the weather; the winner of the duck race was duck number 271, bought by Harry who was in Pensford with his parents visiting friends for the weekend. Second place was Tom Davenport from Bristol with duck number 425, Emma Gray from Stockwood was third with duck number 55.

Huge thanks to everyone who helped make the event such a success and especially to Jo and Mike at the pub for their generosity – the tennis club raised £430 from the event.
