Thursday 12th October saw the first ever PLTC end of season quiz. 8 teams took part, made up of members and their friends to battle it out to win a ‘money can’t buy’ prize: the smartie pants cup! The teams were put through their paces answering questions ranging from the shape of the new £1 coin to how many tennis balls could fill Centre court with the roof closed (290 million!). Naming the five child characters in Charlie and the Chocolate factory proved a stumbling block for many teams and the only anagram of MONDAY kept them all quiet for a few minutes! Donations towards repairing the recently vandalised Poppleton Football club were given on the evening, totalling £120. Thanks to the Poppleton Centre for hosting the event and congratulations to the ‘Udder halves’ for claiming the trophy! Thanks to Mel, Sue Jones and Jack Hannah for organising such a successful event.
