Regional Player Development Centre (RPDC)

In September 2018, after a rigorous selection process by the LTA, Reed's School was awarded Regional Player Development Centre (RPDC) status along with only a small number of Centres throughout the country. Under the new LTA system, RPDC players are targeted as having the potential to progress and to qualify for National Age Group Programmes (NAGP) and National Academies, funded by the LTA.

The selection of Reed's School as an RPDC was based on the quality of day to day training & coaching, excellent facilities and affordability for parents and players. Young players from the ages of 10-14 years (boys and girls) are recommended from County training and then put through a selection process by Reed’s School Tennis Academy (RSTA) coaches. If selected, players benefit from subsidised training opportunities and to use Reed’s either as a training base or as an access site for expert coaching as well as strength and conditioning and tournament support.

RPDC fits well with Reed’s and adds another element to the excellent tennis offered at Reed’s, which includes our Academy - RSTA, our community programme - Reed’s Tennis School, in addition to our internal school tennis programme.

Since the RPDC programme started in Sept 2018, we have been delighted to see a number of players selected to represent GB in friendly matches and also progress to NAGP status. We are highly motivated to continue to build on this programme moving forwards. If you would like more information please email: rsta@reeds.surrey.sch.uk.
