History of Rushmere Tennis Club
Rushmere Tennis Club was founded in the 1930s, in the 1950s the club was brought by the Town and County Building Society, which later became the Anglia Building Society followed by Nationwide. In the 1980s the Nationwide sold the club back to the members.
The club and courts are secluded, sheltered by trees, with lawns and a loose gravel car park.
The ramshackle character of the timber clubhouse includes a long veranda with benches to relax and watch some tennis.
