An inspiring feat of endurance

SLTC member Amy and her husband Olly experienced the heartbreaking loss of a pregnancy in 2022. Since then, they’ve become increasingly aware of how many others quietly endure similar grief — journeys that are often complex, unpredictable, and rarely spoken about openly.

Amy and Olly were later blessed to welcome a little girl, now two, and are currently expecting another baby. Their experiences have inspired them to raise awareness and support for families facing loss.

To do this, Olly has taken on an extraordinary challenge in aid of Tommy’s, the pregnancy and baby charity. His project, “Marathons for Miracles,” involves running 39 marathons in 39 consecutive weeks, across all 39 historic counties of England.

Olly began this incredible journey on 28th December 2025 and aims to complete it on 19th September 2026. Each marathon will be run alongside a different person, each with their own story to share.

Marathon number 15 — the Shropshire leg — will take place on Good Friday (3rd April). The route runs from Bridgnorth to Ironbridge, via Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, before finishing on the bridge in Ironbridge.

If any SLTC members would like to join Olly for all or part of the Shropshire run, Amy would love to hear from you. You can get in touch via their fundraising page here: Olly Brown is fundraising for Tommy’s, the pregnancy and baby charity — and of course, any donations would be hugely appreciated.

Good luck, Olly — from everyone at Shropshire Lawn Tennis Club!
