Junior Tennis
The club welcomes and encourages juniors for competitive and fun tennis for all with a friendly modern vibe.
For Junior players we offer tennis events and fun days to grow tennis participation and encourage more regular involvement with the club throughout the season. Juniors can also join coaching sessions and play with other members.
JUNIOR COORDINATOR NEEDED - The club runs Junior tournaments each year and also encourages junior tennis between members. These events need family support to make them as much fun for everybody as possible. If you feel that you can become a ‘Junior co-ordinator’ to help conversations between families please email coaching@sonningtennis.com for more information.

Court Booking - junior members are welcome to book courts, via the club's court booking system
What do I need to do?
- Under 13s should always be supervised either by a member adult on court or non-member adult beside the court to ensure club rules are followed
- Please book a court before turning up to play to avoid unnecessary journeys (parents / adults need to book the court for their junior members - the court booking account will have been set up for the parent to login - please contact membership@sonningtennis.com if you need help)

Junior Coaching 2024
Junior coaching sessions will be run by our coaches on Tuesday 5-6pm (Yellow Ball 11+), Thursday 5-6pm (Orange/Green Ball 7-11) and Sunday 3-4 in winter - Junior performance sessions.
All sessions cost £10 each - or book 6 sessions for £50 - see our coaching page for course details or email coaching@sonningtennis.com
Junior coaching School Holiday Tennis Camps with coaching, covering improving play, working on technique, fun games and match play.
All the holiday camps are run by our coaches between 9.30am to 12.30pm, cost £30 per session or £75 for a week (payment in advance).

Junior Tournaments - usually played on the same day as the club championship finals in September, with a family barbecue available too.
- Loudwell Cup - This is a parent (or other adult) & child team event played annually. Usually a ‘Round Robin’ matches played between the teams, the team winning most games overall declared the winner. Congratulations to Takumi and Simon Parsons who won the 2024 event and are the current holders
- Hilary Moss Tournament - a ‘Round Robin’ of singles matches between all the entrants with the winner being the player with the most wins. Usually one competition for girls and one for boys, depending on number of entrants. Congratulations to our 2024 champions - Under 14s winner - Yuuki Parsons'Katsuta and Under 18s winner - Takumi Parsons-Katsuta
