Sonning's Head Coach, Rob Ventin heads to Australia on 10th February, taking up a new role as a coach in a multi centre tennis company based in Perth, Australia. Playing on grass courts every day in glorious sunshine, it's hard to understand why he would be leaving England's rainy winter days!

On Tuesday before he left, club members joined Rob for farewell drinks, where he was presented with a Montblanc leather bracelet and "Sonni" the cuddly kangaroo holding $400(Aus) to send him on his way, following a collection for the popular coach. A great turnout of members showed how much he'll be missed, with chairman Tim Banks thanking Rob for a great 3 years at the club. Rob added he had "always been taught to aim to be professional with clients and not to become "friends" - however that was never possible at Sonning from his first day feeling so welcome by everyone, during coaching or playing."
