Welcome to the Club

The Grove is a friendly LTA affiliated tennis club in Chelmsford with six astroturf floodlit courts, a practice wall, clubhouse with licensed bar and on site parking. The club is located off Moulsham Drive between house numbers 177-179 in Chelmsford, Essex.

We are a thriving tennis club and encourage new members of all ages and abilities to get involved, whether thats through our numerous social sessions throughout the week, the competitive opportunities we offer in local and Essex leagues at junior, adult and veteran level and of course we offer professional coaching for you to improve your game either in individual or group sessions.

Social tennis

These have always been one of the strongest aspects of the Grove and that is what makes our club so attractive to new members and keep our membership united. It provides a fun and friendly atmosphere for members to play casual tennis and socialise at the bar or have a cup of tea! The timetable for social tennis is:

Monday => 10am - 12pm
Tuesday => 9am - 12pm
Wednesday => 6:30pm - 10pm
Friday => 9am - 12pm & 7pm - 10pm
Saturday => 3pm - 5pm => Ladies beginners/improvers only (contact coach)
Sunday => 6-8 pm Mens beginners/improvers only (contact coach)
Some Sunday Afternoons: once a month. dates on the social calendar page

Note: socail tennis is not for beginners. If you are a beginner you will need to receive coaching first until you are at an appropriate standard. There are group coaching and individual coaching options available.
