Pickleball at Royston Tennis Club

We’re excited to introduce Pickleball at Royston Tennis Club!
Two of our tennis courts can now be converted into four pickleball courts, giving members even more opportunities to play, socialise, and stay active.

Whether you’re a long‑time tennis member or new to the club through pickleball, there’s a place for you here.

What Is Pickleball?

Pickleball is a fun, fast‑growing racket sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It’s easy to learn, suitable for all ages, and can be played casually or competitively.

  • Played on a smaller court than tennis
  • Uses a paddle and plastic ball
  • Great for beginners and experienced players alike
  • Emphasises rallying, reflexes, and social play

Pickleball Courts & Layout

  • Tennis courts 1 & 2 = pickleball courts 1A, 1B & 2A, 2B
  • Clearly marked courts with portable nets
  • Set up and taken down according to the daily court schedule
  • Designed to minimise disruption to tennis play

Pickleball and tennis will co‑exist respectfully, with court availability managed by the club.
