Leaving us:- Kerry, Howard and Tyrone. David Williams who has worked closely with both over the years summed up their contribution.
“ Firstly, to Howard — the amount of work you’ve done for the club has been truly incredible.
Much of it has gone unnoticed, and a lot of it has involved the thankless (but vital) tasks like changing energy suppliers, sorting electrics, fixing heaters, managing floodlights, repairing doors, updating systems, and so much more.
I would often see you at the club early in the afternoon, patiently waiting to meet the next engineer or electrician. Your commitment has been amazing.
I honestly don’t see how we will replace you, so I really hope you’ll stay involved with the club in some capacity.
Your contribution has been huge and deeply appreciated — thank you for everything.
Kerry — a true force of nature and the glue that holds the tennis social scene together!
You’ve been such a vital part of the club, especially in an area that can easily be overlooked at management committee level.
You’ve pushed to improve the club’s social tennis offering and worked tirelessly to develop a stronger, more connected sense of community over the years.
Thank you for really moving the dial forward on these fronts — your impact has been fantastic.
I really hope that as a club, we can find someone to follow in your footsteps — someone who champions the social side of the club, represents our female members, and drives forward club events just as passionately as you have.
Just like Howard, I’m sure you won’t be stepping away completely — or at least, I hope not!
(Especially since I still need you to find me twenty four social players for the Club BBQ Day! )”
Tyrone Davies also has been of great assistance this year stepping in as interim treasurer. His wealth of experience has helped us reach the point we are at now. Thank you
Thank you to Nigel Murphy also joining the extended management committee. As always we look to encourage new volunteers to join us in whatever capacity they feel comfortable with.
