Board 

Nigel Lomas & Paul Hennessy have been co-opted to the Board. Paul as Treasurer and Nigel Lomas along with Nigel Murphy will split the role of Bar &  Facilities vacated in December. 

Benches 

Additional benches complete the set on tennis courts 1-6. Thank you to the Sheppard and Hallchurch families for the latest donations. 

Membership 

Please check that  you are uptodate with your membership category prior to audit. 

Students must be Swansea University  registered. Other categories are defined by age. (Junior, Young and Intermediate).

Squash & Racketball

Tennis & Padel

Results of the Members Advisory Ballot 

Thank you to those who provided the Board with their preferred options. 

Of the 325 possible votes, 275 were considered by members and 120 were submitted. 

Overwhelmingly the preference was for 9 tennis and 2 padel. Option 5 (no padel) least popular. 

Whilst the University option (2) remains possible a lengthy delay is likely due to their ongoing negotiations along with the CCoS to appoint a Sports Facilities Operator for their assets.

This has prompted the Board to look at the possibility of extending the existing 789 footprint to facilitate both 2 Padel and 3 Tennis in that location. A detail proposal has been submitted to CCoS and is currently being considered. 

Work will start on the resurfacing of the area on 13th April which will enable the initial phase of 3 refurbished tennis courts to progress, while also allowing some of  the groundwork for 2 padel courts to be  started. 

The resurfaced tennis courts will be available from 18 May

Ellinore Lightbody & Geoff Muxworthy for their respective wins in the Scottish Senior Open Championships &  Ellinore for her selection to represent GB in world World Championships in Turkey in March. Wishing her best of luck. 

Junior Tennis and Squash Players who played in county matches this month with   

Xander and Charles part of the winning team in the U 9 tennis intercounties  for South Wales in Sheffield and who now proceed to the National championships.
