 Ladies Thursday morning Christmas Lunch

This month saw our ‘Thursday morning ladies’ hold their Christmas lunch at Clyne Golf Club. A lovely Christmas carvery  followed in wonderful company. Thank you to Heulwen for arranging and lovely to see both new and long established members starting the Christmas celebrations.

WE also held the Billie Jean King Cup event for our tennis ladies. The event consisted of teams of 4 in doubles games. Great fun had by all. Winners were Wendy, Kerry, Mandy and Sandra, with Iris, Rebecca, Judith and Marilyn as runners up. Thank you so much to Ellinore for running the competition and our wonderful prizes… Wimbledon mugs, so very chuffed.

Repairs

Following detailed discussions and various site meetings over the last 6 months, we are now drafting the tender documentation for the roof repairs to the clubhouse, this being done in conjunction with a Principle Design consultancy who we appointed. They will oversee the work and ensure that the club and the contractor to be awarded the contract are meeting and adhering to all the necessary Health and Safety requirements for a project of this scale.

The project we hope to start towards the end of January/early February and it will take a couple of months, we will provide further details in due course, but there is likely to be some disruption because of the work. We will also need to provide the specialist contractor with the necessary compound and welfare facilities, but we’ll endeavour to minimise the inconvenience caused to members and guests.

Further updates will follow

Rising Costs -

As we are all aware there are imminent increases in costs. Subsequently we shall be considering our options for the future. Any suggestions are welcomed for riding out this forthcoming financial squeeze.

Health and safety

The club wishes speedy recovery to Gavin Young who fell whilst undertaking work within the club. Reminder to all members that there is an accident book which is stored by the bar door and entries should be made following any accidents, incidents or near misses.

In addition we would urge all members to ensure that their medical information is updated on their profile on Club Spark.

First aid kits are located within both changing rooms and behind the bar, with the defibrillator outside the ladies changing room.

A list of first aiders is also displayed, and the club would be grateful if any additional first aiders made themselves known to the management committee.

Note:-  any tasks undertaken on behalf of the club, whether voluntary or remunerated should be with the prior approval of the management committee for the safety of all involved. .

Safeguarding survey and policies

Reminder that the LTA is undertaking an audit of safeguarding and all members have been emailed the survey to complete if they wish. Safeguarding information is displayed around the club and all policies are on the website.
