Junior Tennis

Junior Coaching sessions are available for all ages and abilities with the emphasis on fun and learning to play tennis within the game situation from an early age.

The Junior Coaching Programme is led by Terry Hunt (LTA accredited+, Level 4 Coach) along with a team of Tennis Leaders, Level 1 and Level 2 Coaches.

We have junior coaching groups from the age of 4 to 18 along with competitions, clubnights and social events.

  • Mini Red    9am
  • Teenagers/Yellow Ball   10am
  • Orange/Green Ball   11am

Players are grouped in terms of their tennis ability and all junior coaching sessions are sixty minutes a class.

SOCIAL PLAY

Stronger yellow ball juniors may be invited to join the Adult Social Programme out of term time. These currently take place on Sunday mornings and Monday evenings (during the summer months).

TEAMS AND COMPETITIVE OPPORTUNITIES

We enter teams into various Junior Leagues, stage Red, Orange and Green Grade 6 Tournaments (with Online Entry) and hold regular Team Challenge events against other clubs. There is always the  opportunity for our Tennis Leaders to assist as on court supervisors.

TENNIS FOR KIDS

This is a course of 6 coaching sessions designed specifically for children new to tennis. Over the years we have found them to be particularly popular with both children and parents.

LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME

The Club has an award winning "Leadership Programme" which is available for 13 to 16 year olds. Talk to Coach Terry  or a members of the Club Committee for more details.

STRAWBERRY RED

Straweberry Red is our own family Adult and Child Event which takes place every year on the Sunday before the start of Wimbledon. Following a family fun tennis tournament, a delicious 'bring and share' afternoon picnic tea is served.

THE QUORN FAMILY CUP

The Quorn Family Cup is a Parent and Child event, with the  winners in the various age groups being given the opportunity to compete in a competition event at Nottingham Tennis Centre during the Grass Court Tournament.
