We are delighted to be in a position to open Tealby Bowls Club. However, due to the pandemic there are some restrictions that need to be observed.
Tealby Bowls Club is committed to ensuring the safety of our members and we need members to please respect and follow our guidelines and advise us of any concerns.
Members choosing to play should consider their own circumstances carefully and do so at their own risk. Do not leave your home to play Bowls if you or someone you live with has symptoms of COVID-19, or you are in the most vulnerable category and have been advised to shield from the coronavirus. If a player becomes unwell after playing they should first contact their GP and then inform the club.
Booking: Adult Members who wish to bowl can book up to 2 hours every day up to 7 days in advance. We respectfully request that bookings are limited to a maximum of 2 hours per household per day and to not block book the same times every day in advance. There will be no option to play without doing so.
Booking can be made by telephone - Keith Standen 07712 007052. This system will remain in place until the bowling section is registered with the clubspark website.
Players will be expected to arrive ready to play no more than 5 minutes before the booked start time and vacate the green 20 minutes before the end of their session to ensure social distancing. Once play has finished players should remove all their belongings and leave the club in a safe and prompt manner.
Nobody but the players should be allowed on the Green. There should be no spectators present during this phase of reopening .
Members are welcome to bring a guest to play with them on their booked session, with the £3 guest fee paid directly to the member before play.
Rinks1/3/5 or alternatively 2/4/6 will be made available from 10am-7pm and will be locked thereafter each day.
Pavilion: Following regulations, the Pavilion will remain closed until further notice. There will be NO access to toilets or hand washing facilities on site.
HEALTH, SAFETY & HYGIENE
First Aid: The First Aid Box has been relocated to the plastic container to the right of the main pavilion door. Please notify Tom Howat of any accidents as the accident book will require completion.
The defibrillator is accessible as usual on the northern external elevation of the pavilion.
Hygiene: Please follow the public health guidelines for hygiene. Wash your hands before and after visiting the Club. You are also advised to wear gloves and bring hand sanitisers.
Emergencies: Emergency contact details are available as usual in the front porch of the pavilion.
Play: Play is restricted to two players per Rink (other than where players are from the same household who are able to play doubles). No extra-curricular or other social activity should take place. This will reviewed to meet Government guidelines as they are released.
No physical contact - ie shaking hand or high 5s etc and keep a safe distance of 2 metres between each other.
Provide your own Bowls and equipment. Sharing of equipment is not recommended.
Players are advised to bring a full water bottle and do not share food or drink with others. Please wear appropriate clothing to suit the conditions, along with sun cream as necessary.
Given the length of time that bowling as an activity has been suspended, it is advised that anyone returning to the Green eases themselves back into play gently.
Bowling Equipment: Bowling equipment is available in the bowls shed. All equipment should be sanitised before and after play by the player who uses them. Sanitiser and paper towels are available in the shed.
Please sensure ALL players sign the register (hanging up in shed) and ensure that the lock is sanitised after use.
Please STAY ALERT, follow our guidelines and report any non-compliance to a member of our management committee. We hope this gives all members a chance to get back on the Green.
If the guidelines are not followed we reserve the right to review the re-opening of the Greens. In addition, there may be changes to these rules at a later date if we receive further guidance from Bowls England or other relevant body.
