Check out the Memberships page to learn more and join Abercorn.
Non-members can play tennis at Abercorn on Court 4, which can be booked on a pay-to-play basis through the LTA Pay & Play Program.
As a small, volunteer-run community club, we don’t have a reception desk or staff that are always on site (although the clubhouse is accessible to members at all times).
If you’re interested in checking out our club’s facilities before joining, or you aren’t a member but are looking to pick up an item in our Lost & Found and want to make sure someone is around, please email info@abercornsportsclub.co.uk and we’ll organise a convenient time.
Whether you’re a complete beginner, you’re returning to the game and feel a bit rusty, or you just want to hone your skills further, our tennis and squash coaches offer a range of individual and group lessons and classes as well as holiday camps for junior players.
All are welcome to take advantage of our coaching program or enroll in classes—you don't have to be a member—though members do get a discount on classes.
We offer regular social tennis and squash sessions for members to get out on the court for some extra practice and to enjoy playing friendly games with other members:
Social tennis
Wednesdays from 6-8 pm
Saturdays from 2-4 pm
Social squash
Sundays at 6:30 pm
All members welcome! We also have a regular 'first Friday of the month' social for playing and socialising in the bar.
As a community-focused club, we periodically host fun events and occasions for members to socialize and have fun both on and off the court. Join us for an afternoon of American Doubles tennis, a squash open house, or even a quiz night!
Membership gives players access to competitive tournament matches in the East of Scotland Leagues for both tennis and squash, where Abercorn fields ladies and mens teams in both sports.
Check out our News & Events page to keep up to date with what’s happening at the club and find out how to get involved, or follow us on Facebook and Instagram!
If you’re curious about our offerings but aren’t ready to join, or if you have friends or family who would like to check out the club, consider joining us for one of our open days. At these events non-members can pick up a racket and give tennis and/or squash a try, with both free play and mini coaching sessions available for all ages. Our annual open day usually takes place in March with smaller open houses throughout the year. Keep an eye on our social media for the next ones!
Abercorn Sports Club is located in the leafy Willowbrae area of Edinburgh to the east of the city centre. We’re easy to access with unmetered street parking outside the club and we’re a 10 minute or less walk from convenient bus routes (Lothian Bus routes 4, 5, 26, 44, and 45 and East Coast routes 124, 113, X6, and X7).
As a registered Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC), Abercorn is not-for-profit and is managed by a dedicated committee of volunteer members. Our mission is to make racket sports, general fitness, sportsmanship and camaraderie accessible to our entire community, and our partners are a vital part of our success!
We are proudly supported by a number of local businesses, but are always looking for more strategic partners and sponsors who can help us in our mission.
