Day 8 Club Championships Update

Line ups for ladies singles final and one mens singles SF decided on a busy Friday. Four matches planned on Saturday morning are a good reason to come along and watch the action.

Angela Bowcock beat Julie Besbrode in the ladies singles to set up a meeting with Philippa Hayton in the final.

In the mens singles 'quarter of doom' Raj Kushwaha beat Keith Harris in two sets to earn a 2nd round tie against defending champion Geraint Davies. Dave Kirkman and Steve Coleman are to meet in SF after both winning in two sets over James Hider and Sam Pegg respectively.

Results from Friday 22nd June

A bumper crop of matches on Saturday morning, with four on court at once. If Friday night was mens singles night, then Saturday is mens doubles morning. Two father and son teams are in action. Simon Denyer/Mark Hoskins play Jos & Bruce Bailey; Duncan & Ben Hurlstone play Guy Johnson/David Clift and Colin Wooldridge/Mark Medwecki play no 2 seeds Phil Huggon/Geraint Davies.

In the ladies doubles SF, Heidi Bailey returns (nursing a broken finger from Thursday's match) with Philippa Hayton to play Jackie Huggon/Helen Judd.
