* Booking fees now apply to all of the public tennis courts.  Price changes. These change in APRIL and OCTOBER as per Rother DC Fees and charges Fees and Charges – Rother District Council. The income generated will help to fund the on-going maintenance of the courts and their resurfacing in the future.

*Coaching: We only endorse coaching through LTA registered coaches who have let the council know they are coaching. Only these are allowed to coach and from April/May 2024 onwards this will be through a sole tennis operator provider. Only coaches and sessions provider by this operator should be used and  people wanting to be coached should go through them. (details to follow on coaching page).  All organised and charges sessions should be notified to the council as this is different to the public using them for casual play.

* The Council is keen to get people playing and make the most of the courts so please play your part building a local tennis community in the park.  Please pass on any comments on helping make this happen and use the courts responsibly. There will be more initiatives to encourage residents to play featuring on this website. Tennis for Free, Open Days, Coffee mornings, Youth tennis and walking tennis are examples. These will be through the tennis coach provider

*If the Egerton Park courts are busy it's possible to book the court at Little Common Recreation ground Currently there is no charge for this court

About the Park Courts

PLEASE USE POSTCODE TN39 3HL to find the park

Egerton park has five public tennis courts, one of which doubles up as a pickleball court.  There are two additional courts which are used exclusively by Bexhill Tennis Club and another court with two mini goals which is used as an informal kickabout area.

The courts are located on either side of the Indoor Bowls Club in the award wining park and are fully accessible to anyone wanting to play tennis including full time wheelchair users.  Each court is numbered.  Courts 1 and 2 are located to the west of the Indoor Bowls Club, close to Brockley Road.   The  kickabout court (Court 7) is located alongside the children's play-zone and only court where football and other sports should be played.

A small charge per half hour of use is payable across all of the public courts  for booking between April and September (inclusive) which is reduced during the winter period between October and March (inclusive). Tennis Courts need to be booked and can be done so via this site - see booking tab. The multi-use/kickaround court is free of charge on a first come, first served  basis.

Parking subject to the recent Parking Places order is available on-street and in the small car park located on site.  You can also access the courts by public transport. The nearest train station at Collington on Cooden Drive is just a short walk away.  There are  buses from the town centre or on routes 99 and 14.  Bus information can be found here

Please note there are no toilet or changing facilities at the courts, but there are public toilets close by in the park and a cafe with outdoor seating for refreshments. None of the courts are floodlit.

Please note it is important that you make yourself aware and follow the guidance on our Booking & Terms of Use page.

At any one time, a maximum of ten people may use Court 7 for walking football.  A maximum of six people may play informal ball games on Court 7 at any one time. The ball should be kept below head height.
