April 2021 news

Gosforth Garden Village Tennis Club    News  April 2021

Adult Social play update

Under current government and LTA guidance, social play sessions organised by clubs are restricted in many ways. From the May 17th provided there is no change to the timetable of the government's roadmap, these sessions will be re-instated.

In the meantime, we are aware that a number of new and existing adult members may have been shielding or because of current or previous restrictions may not have met other members and have therefore not had the opportunity to play as much as you would have liked during the pandemic.

If you fall into this category, we plan to organise a trial session on Saturday the 24th of April to help people get playing again.

We have blocked out both courts from 1.30pm to 3pm on Saturday.

So, if you fall into the above categories, please e-mail me by the end of Wednesday the 21st  of April to be added to a list. Depending on the number of responses we get, we will then organise the session to ensure that the current restrictions and rules are followed. If more than eight players sign up then we will start a list for the following Saturday. An email will then be sent to those who have signed up to explain the arrangements.

Junior membership options 2021

As the junior membership options are a little complex, please find below further clarification of the options for junior play at Gosforth Garden Village Club.

Junior membership.

The membership fee for Juniors is bundled in with those enrolled on an 18-week coaching course.

For those juniors who are not enrolled on one of these courses, the fees are -

£20 for 11 years and under per child.   £30 for 12 years and over per child.

This membership is designed to allow junior members to play together on court.

If in addition, a parent / guardian wants to play with their children on court then they also need to take out the Parent /Guardian membership option below.

There is protected time for junior and family bookings on a Friday and courts can also be booked at other times when available.

Parent / Guardian membership.  £20.

This option is to allow junior(s) of the same family to play exclusively with their own parent(s) or guardian(s).

Parent/Guardian membership does not include the option to play with other Parent/Guardian members from another family or other juniors. Therefore, both fees would be payable.

For some families, or where the parents want to play adult tennis too, the family membership option may work out cheaper and be more suited to their requirements.

Hopefully this all make makes sense.  If you are still unsure about the best option for your circumstances please ask.
