On June the 4th we joined in with Gosforth Garden Village Association to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee. We held a BBQ alongside our social tennis and also opened our courts for the afternoon to visitors from the village attending their street party. Individuals and families were able to take to the courts to have a game throughout the afternoon. There were many people enquiring about membership of the club and we have already gained some new members living in the Village.
We also had a visit from David Bavaird the High Sheriff of Tyne and Wear who opened the BBQ and gave a short speech and even played a few points in his official court attire as seen in the photo below!
A great afternoon was enjoyed by everyone.
