Adult Social Play Update

As the restrictions are relaxed from Monday the 17th of May the adult social play sessions are being restarted as follows :-

Monday from 6.30pm onwards -  MIxed social play

Tuesday from 6.30pm onwards - Men’s social play

Wednesday from 6.30pm onwards - Ladies social play

Saturday from 1.30 till 4.30pm - Mixed social play

No need to book, just turn up and play.  Obviously with only 2 courts available and a limited amount of space around the courts some sessions may become busy.  Please ensure you comply with all the current regulations (full details as always on the LTA website).  Spectating is permitted now however, there are still rules about car-sharing. The sessions are blocked off on the ClubSpark system.  If any of the sessions become too busy, we may bring in a booking system.

ClubSpark Login Update

ClubSpark and the LTA are combining their systems so you will now be prompted to create an LTA account (if you do not already have one) and use that as your login to both systems. Please take the time to update your details. The ClubSpark website appears to be running a little slowly due to these changes at present. If you have any queries there is further advice on the ClubSpark website or get in touch with me.

Pop-up Leagues Update

We have recently received confirmation that the pop-up leagues will go ahead. Following the responses we entered the following three teams :-

Mens – any age

Ladies – over 55

Mixed  - over 55

Matches dates / times have been drawn up centrally rather than being agreed between teams. This means there may be issues with clashes (eg with coaching sessions) so they can be changed.

The over 55 matches have been scheduled for Monday to Friday daytime (they must be assuming those playing are all retired!). The Mens matches are either evenings or Sunday morning.  Once the dates are finalised, they will be blocked off in the Clubspark system. We will be in touch with those who registered an interest in match play.  If anyone else would like to be considered for matches please let Diane or Ken know.

Coaching Award

We are delighted to announce our coach Ian Pearson has won the LTA Development Coach of the Year 2021 award for Durham and Cleveland. His name will now be put forward for the regional awards and then potentially the national awards. I’m sure many of you will have had the pleasure of improving your game under his expert tuition. His hard work and dedication over many years at the club is very much appreciated.

And finally, thanks to those who have renewed their club membership for the coming year.
